Smile, you’re on camera! Life perspective of a little grass blade

Green grass from the ground up against blue sky

Have you ever wondered what the perspective on life would be of a tiny, vulnerable grass blade? Pretty great as it happens. Turns out: A grass blade is busy smiling!

There are people who have put a grass blade under the microscope and who have put the images of what they saw online. What these enlarged, microscopic photos show….is a magical secret that not many people know about. Tiny grass blades, those things we overlook in our daily life, which are doing their thing down there, quite happily: are busy smiling! You can find quite a lot of these images that show a grass blade containing smiley faces online. These stories appear to have been circulating around the internet for years.

Grass blades: so tiny, so vulnerable, so about to be trampled on at any moment. Yet smiling whenever they are photographed. So, you could say that happiness is being a grass blade. Who’d have thought!

Something to smile about: That summer feeling

When was the last time we saw the world from that low angle ourselves? Was it perhaps as a child, lying in the summer sun? Looking up at the blue sky, through our eyelashes, watching the clouds floating by, making out what animals we saw in them. One leg in the air, dangling over the other. Enjoying the slow life. When we took the time to really absorb what we were seeing?

We don’t do this often now. But literally looking at life from a different perspective, such as from the ground, can be a pretty nice thing to do. And so, maybe grass blades have a thing or two to teach us when it comes to enjoying life…and smile?

“So tiny, so vulnerable, so about to be trampled on. Yet smiling whenever photographed!”

Shiny happy grasses

They say that grass can be found all over the world. There are nearly 12,000 different types. Grass is not only eaten by grazing animals, it is also used as shelter by rabbits for example. Wheatgrass drinks are among our superfood drinks. But we know grass of course from our shiny, pretty cultivated lawns and its smell from when we cut it.
